Three Luxe app screens: discover feed, home and a product page

The brief

One place for premium sneakers

Sneaker buyers jump between brand apps and big marketplaces to find one pair.

Luxe brings premium footwear from many brands into one curated app. People can discover new drops, compare them side by side and buy knowing the pair will fit.

The challenge

Why people give up on buying shoes online

  • They can’t tell which size to pick.
  • Photos are few and descriptions are vague.
  • Checkout is slow or confusing.
  • They don’t trust the quality or the delivery.
  • Once they’ve paid, they can’t track the order.

Our goal: remove the friction at every step, from browsing to delivery.

How we worked

Five steps, users first

  1. Empathise

Learn who buys sneakers online and what stops them.

  2. Define

Turn what we learned into one clear problem.

  3. Ideate

Sketch many ways to solve it, then pick the strongest.

  4. Prototype

Build screens people can tap through.

  5. Test

Put the prototype in front of users and refine it.

Research

What sneaker buyers told us

Three sources:

  • One-to-one interviews with sneaker buyers
  • App-store reviews of Nike, Myntra, AJIO and SuperKicks
  • A benchmark of their flows, product pages and checkouts
Persona card for Aakash, 27, a sales manager in Chennai. Goals: discover new drops from many brands in one place, be sure of size and fit, pay in a few steps and track delivery. Frustrations: wrong sizes leading to returns, too many apps, long checkouts and no updates after payment.
Meet Aakash. Our persona, built from the interviews: a 27-year-old sneaker fan in Chennai who already shops online. He wants new drops from every brand in one place, and to be sure of the fit before he pays.

Competitors

Where the big apps fall short

Every app covers the basics. None lets you choose how your order is delivered, and none ships free.

Adidas and Converse sell only their own shoes. That gap shaped Luxe: many brands in one app, with clear delivery choices.

Goals

What the design has to do

  • Make finding the right sneaker effortless.
  • Build confidence with rich photos and size guidance.
  • Cut the steps in checkout.
  • Keep buyers informed after they pay.
  • Bring every sneaker brand into one app.
  • 30%fewer abandoned checkouts
  • 40%faster product discovery

These are the targets the design is built to hit, not measured results.

Structure

The shortest path to “Buy now”

We mapped the main purchase journey first, then built the app around it.

Guests can shop without signing up, size and colour sit on the product page, and checkout reuses saved details.

User flow: home, product list, product, decide to buy, then buy now, checkout, address, payment, place order and back to shopping
User flow: from the home page to a placed order.
Information architecture: onboarding, sign in or guest, then a home page with four tabs (Shopping, Wishlist, Cart and Profile) and the screens under each
Information architecture: four tabs under one home page.

Wireframes

Layout before looks

Grey screens let us test the order of things, not the colours.

Size and price sit high on the product page, filters include UK, EU and US sizes, and checkout is three clear steps.

Ten Luxe wireframes: discover, categories, search results, product, filters, home, profile, order, checkout and order overview

Final design

Bold photos, calm interface

The shoes do the talking. The interface stays black, white and quiet around them.

Luxe Lens finds a shoe from a photo, and the fit summary shows how other buyers rated a size before you pick yours.

Final Luxe screens: Luxe Lens photo search, onboarding, sign in, discover, categories and a product page with a fit summary, colours and Add to cart

Prototype

The whole journey, clickable

Discover a shoe, pick a size, check out and track it, all in one prototype.
